Countryside, wine and small towns
This tour is suitable for everyone, who would like to leave Bratislava for a day and enjoy lovely countriside, wine and small towns not too far from Bratislava.
The tour starts in Bratislava at 9.30 am. We will reach Trnava in half an hour and enjoy a short stop on the main street with the town Tower and former Synagogue – currently a space for contemporary art.
Later on we drive for about an hour to Myjava region. We will visit a traditional village house where you can find out about the 19th century life and Slovak folklore. Taste a localy made „slivovica“ traditional strong spirit (52%) made of plums.
In Skalica we will stop to see the Romanesque St. George Chapel or would you prefere to taste Skalický Rubín – local red wine and a typical cake called Skalický Trdelník? (Optional lunch.)
Short drive to cross the former border and enter the Czech Republic to visit Petrov Plže. Lovely wine area with 80 wine cellars dating from the 15th century.
Drive back to Bratislava with an optional stop depending on time and your plans.
Book the tour in advance. Avalilability of some sights depends on an early reservation, days, and opening hours. Before starting the tour we will double check with you if you would like to see all the sights listed in the itinerary or have slightly different idea.
